Monaco striker Mika Biereth has revealed that Jamal Musiala was unhappy with his choice to play for Denmark over fellow German international.
Biereth has been in fine form for Monaco since joining from Sturm Graz in January and has been called up to the Denmark senior squad for their Nations League quarter-final against Portugal on March 20 and 23.

Musiala, who has known Biereth since childhood, wanted his friend to choose to serve Germany together, but was unsuccessful.
“I spoke with him (Musiala) and he wanted me to choose to play for Germany. But in my heart I always wanted to play for Denmark and I am happy to choose here.”

“Both our families are close, so he knows I’m German too. He speaks German with my dad and he wasn’t very happy about it (my decision), but I’m happy with my choice and I’m looking forward to playing,” Bereth said.
